SURFING:  Myponga Beach (ten minute walk from Brooklyn Farm) offers a good left hand break for surfing in winter whilst there are other surfing beaches all along the coastline towards Adelaide and southern coasts of the Fleurieu Peninsula throughout the year.  Adjacent to the bottom of the Fleurieu Peninsula lies Kangaroo Island (fifty minute drive to the Ferry at Cape Jarvis) which hosts a surf carnival annually to support the world circuit.

DIVING AND SNORKELLING: All along the coastline opportunities to explore the marine habitat exist and with the wreck of the HMAS Hobart sunk at Lady Bay (twenty minutes drive) this provides a habitat famous on the world diving circuit.  The Leafy Sea Dragon is unique to these parts and is celebrated annually at Normanville (fifteen minutes) with the Leafy Sea Dragon Festival.
